- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoComprensión lectora en sexto grado de primaria de dos instituciones (estatal y privada) de un distrito con alto índice de pobreza: Callao(Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola, 2012) Sánchez Mancilla, Aurora Elena; Robles Mori, HerbertThis research is non-experimental and aimed to represent and compare levels of reading comprehension of sixth grade students of two elementary schools (state and private) in a district with high poverty such as Carmen de the League Reynoso – Callao. We used a comparative descriptive design for a sample consisting of 91 sixth grade students: 64 students of the educational institution of the state and 27 private institutions. The instrument applied was ACL6 reading comprehension test (Catala, G., Molina, E., Catala, M. & Monclús, R. (2001) adapted by (Ortega & Ramirez, 2009). Results indicated that there are differences significant in favor of the state educational institution in global reading comprehension and inferential reorganizacional dimensions.

The sample were of 100 students (79 of the state institution and 21 of the private institution). Questionnaire was used Honey - Alonso Learning Styles (CHAEA), comprising four learning styles: active, reflective, pragmatic and theoretical. The kind of research were basic, with a descriptive and comparative design. The results found do not exist big differences in the learning styles of students from of a state instituction and a private institution except in the active style with a very high preference in the students of the educational particular institution.

We evaluated a sample of 100 children whose average age was five. Test was applied for classification and seriation contained in the test battery FORCAB Operative, Training Cognitive-Affective Basic Structures. Reategui, Whose, Espinoza and Gutierrez (1977). The results showed differences between students from state school versus private only in the placement test, but not in the serialization for students of the private institution.
- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoProcesos lectores en alumnos de 4° grado de primaria de instituciones educativas pública y privada de Ventanilla(Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola, 2012) Gutiérrez Palomino, Edith Laura; Meza Borja, Juan AnibalThe investigation had as purpose to descriptive and compares the psychological processes of the reading between the students for fourth grade of primary education to students of public and private schools, both located in Pachacutec. The sample consisted of 60 students, 30 students in each school of a socioeconomic low level to which there was applied the Battery of Evaluation of the Reading Processes (PROLEC) elaborated for Cuetos , Rodríguez and Ruano (2000). Adapted by Guevara (2009). We used the Mann-Whitney U statistic and found significant differences in the tasks of letter name and sound, grammatical structure, sentence comprehension and reading comprehension, for students of the private school versus public institution, although both groups are below the required standards as good readers.
