- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoHabilidades de pre cálculo en estudiantes de primer grado de cuatro instituciones educativas del Callao(Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola, 2012) Bobadilla Cornelio, Juana; Meza Borja, Juan AnibalThe research aimed to determine the level of development of the skills of pre calculation from first graders four schools of Callao, as with the pre test calculation Milicic and Schmidt and adapted by Drain, Delgado and Carpio (2005) . We used simple descriptive design. The sample consisted of 173 students in first grade. The results showed that pre calculation skills in first graders are at an average level of development. Skills: Basic concepts, visual perception, ordinal numbers and figures playback observe a medium level of development while skills: matching term by term, recognition of geometric figures, number recognition and reproduction, cardinality, and arithmetic problem solving conservation observed low level of development. No gender differences were found.

The comparative descriptive research was conducted with a sample available that consisted of 100 students from five years of an educational institution of Fence- Callao. Test was applied pre calculus Milicic and Schmidt (1995), which assesses math skills through ten dimensions. It was concluded that there are no differences in the abilities of pre calculus students by gender in five years of starting school.

It has been used as a purposive sample, 13 men and 15 women, average age 12 years. We designed and implemented the pre-test and post-test, these being validated by experts. In addition, the pilot had a level of reliability of 0.867 and 0.853 respectively. The results show a significant improvement (p <0.05) in the experimental group in the dimensions of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.
