- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoComprensión lectora en alumnos de primero de secundaria de una institución educativa del Callao según su procedencia escolar(Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola, 2012) Ordiales Abad, Genoveva Sonia; Bustamante Guerrero, Gilberto IndalecioThis descriptive – comparative study aims to compare the levels of reading comprehension of the first year high school students of a public school of region Callao to another group formed by students of public and school private school. The study was done with a sample of 240 students (106 from the same institution, and 134 from others institutions) from both genders whose ages were 11 and 12 years old. The test Comprensión Lectora ACL 6 proposed by Catalá (2001) and adapted for our city by Ortega and Ramirez (2009), was applied to the students of the sample showing validity and reliability. The study proved that there were significant differences between the two groups related to reading comprehension; however, there were no differences in making inferences, showing a higher performance the group the students from other educational institutions.
- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoComprensión lectora en alumnos de quinto grado de secundaria de instituciones educativas estatales que participaron y no participaron en un proyecto de plan lector en el distrito de Ventanilla - Callao(Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola, 2010) Carvo Navarro, Jenny Giovana; Velarde Consoli, Esther MarizaThis research examines the issue of whether there are or not differences in reading comprehension among students of public schools that participated and did not participate in the Reader Plan in Ventanilla (Callao Region). This is a comparative and descriptive research and also corresponds to the ex post facto design. The sample consisted in 294 students in the fifth grade of secondary school (145 males and 149 females) between 15 and 18 years old; who were evaluated with the Tapia and Silva Reading Comprehension Test. The results reveal that students who participated in the Reader Plan had a better performance in two of seven of reading comprehension skills which were examined and also, 35% of these students reached the average-superior category in reading comprehension in contrast of the 24% found in those students who did not participate in the Reader Plan. There were not differences between males and females. This study concludes that Reader Plan may be effective if it were monitored and evaluated.
- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoComprensión lectora en sexto grado de primaria de dos instituciones (estatal y privada) de un distrito con alto índice de pobreza: Callao(Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola, 2012) Sánchez Mancilla, Aurora Elena; Robles Mori, HerbertThis research is non-experimental and aimed to represent and compare levels of reading comprehension of sixth grade students of two elementary schools (state and private) in a district with high poverty such as Carmen de the League Reynoso – Callao. We used a comparative descriptive design for a sample consisting of 91 sixth grade students: 64 students of the educational institution of the state and 27 private institutions. The instrument applied was ACL6 reading comprehension test (Catala, G., Molina, E., Catala, M. & Monclús, R. (2001) adapted by (Ortega & Ramirez, 2009). Results indicated that there are differences significant in favor of the state educational institution in global reading comprehension and inferential reorganizacional dimensions.

It has as objective to establish the relation that exists between reading comprehension and academic achievement. The evaluation was taken to 5th grade students that are about to finish high school. For it there was selected a sample formed by 94 students, of both sexes from a public school located in Callao. For testing the reading comprehension, it was used the Tapia’s reading comprehension test -1982, which is a tool with a collective use. First of all, was considered the last year students’ averages in the subjects of Language, History, Geography, Economy and science in order to get the academic efficiency. For the statistical analysis, was developed the Pearson’s co relation. So, the results showed the positive and meaningful co relation between the reading comprehension and the academic achievement, just as in the subjects in evaluation. To conclude, we believe in this cause-effect, a student that reads more and understand what the text means, has good grades and academic achievement.

The research was descriptive, with a comparative descriptive design. The available sample consisted 80 students, who were administered the Test of metalinguistic skills (THM) Gomez, Valero, Buades and Perez (1995) adapted by Panca (2000). When processing the results found that most of the students in the sample were at the advanced level. The analysis of the scores showed that in most subs test administered to children no significant differences in the use of phonological awareness.
- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoConciencia fonológica y decodificación lectora en estudiantes (primer grado, primaria) de una institución educativa - Callao Cercado(Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola, 2010) Baldassari Arias, Lourdes María; Meza Borja, Juan AnibalThe present investigation aimed to assess the relationship between phonological awareness and reading decoding. The sample consisted of 133 elementary first grader students from a school located in Callao. The phonological awareness was measured by the Phonological Awareness Test whose authors are José Luis Sánchez Ramos and Isabel Cuadrado Gordillo, meanwhile the reading decoding was specifically measured by Screening Test for Dyslexia whose authors are Mabel Condemarín and Blomquist. By processing the data it was found that most students of evaluated sample showed a middle reading decoding level and had middle level in phonological awareness. While performing the correlation analysis it was found a significant relationship between phonological awareness and reading decoding. As for the correlation between the dimensions of phonological awareness (syllable level and the phonemic level) and reading decoding also it was found a significant relationship.

The sample consisted of 360 students, 06 managers and 72 teachers selected through a process not probabilistic intentional. The methodology was descriptive cross-sectional comparative baseline. The subjects were interviewed and also used an observation form. A comparative level, no difference was found between the groups studied. The appreciation of students as managers also no evidence of significance levels for the groups compared. It is noted that students, the managers and the results of the observation form, consider the performance of their teachers as average.
